The UW–Madison Writing Center and the UW–Madison Graduate School are pleased to sponsor two Dissertation Writing Camps in winter-spring 2019.
Participation in UW–Madison’s dissertation writing camps is limited to UW–Madison dissertators who are pursuing a Ph D degree.
Acceptance in the program is competitive, and each camp is limited to a maximum of 20 participants.
In addition to providing extra motivation for many students, the camp serves as a support group.
Fei Sun, a dissertator in the dairy science program, said being a dissertator can feel isolating if you’re the only one in your department.
For Sun, being around other dissertators at the camp makes him feel like he’s not alone in his journey.
“I’m surrounded by 20 other people who have the same goal, and meanwhile we’re supported by the instructors if we have any questions,” he said.
As Chief Academic Officer, Wilson provides leadership for the Academic Affairs division, including all academic departments and instructional programs, academic services, the registrar’s office, information technology, Cressman library, and global initiatives and international programs.
In his 16 years at Cedar Crest College, Wilson has served as Writing Director, Assistant and Associate Professor of English, co-founder and Internal Director of the Masters of Fine Arts in Creative Writing program, Chair of the Department of Humanities, and Associate Provost.
Ozechoski has more than 30 years of experience working in higher education, most recently serving as the Dean of Students at Wesley College in Dover, Delaware.
Prior to joining Wesley, she was the Assistant Dean of Student Development and Involvement at West Chester University and served Post University in Waterbury, Connecticut in the roles of Associate Vice President of Student Life, Assistant Dean of Students, and Director of Student Activities.
